32nd Afreximbank Annual Meeting (AAM) 2025

The prestigious event brought together over 6,000 delegates, including heads of state, government officials, business leaders, and experts from across Africa and the Caribbean.
The Afreximbank Annual Meeting 2025 which was themed “Building the Future on Decades of Resilience,” highlighted the progress made over the past three decades and the bold steps needed to navigate the complex global landscape. NEXIM Bank’s active participation reinforced its commitment to driving economic growth and prosperity for Africa.
Under the Leadership of its dynamic President and Chairman, Board of Directors, Professor , Benedict Oramah ,Afreximbank’ s total assets and guarantees grew more than eight-fold, reaching $43.5 billion by April 2025 with total revenues increased seven-fold to $3.24 billion, and net income rose by 700%, amounting to about $1 billion, Shareholders’ funds also increased from $1 billion in 2015 to $7.5 billion in 2025.

He spearheaded the creation of several strategic subsidiaries and initiatives, including the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), AfrexInsure, the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), and the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) among various others initiatives.
The event provided NEXIM Bank with valuable networking opportunities. Representatives engaged with other financial institutions, policymakers, and business leaders to explore potential collaborations and strategic partnerships.
As part of activities to enhance our participation, we co-hosted a side event in collaboration with Afreximbank and Woodhall Capital titled ‘’Advancing Factoring in Nigeria and Beyond’’ The session brought together key stakeholders to discuss innovative strategies and collaborative efforts towards charting a path to upscale factoring solutions in Nigeria and across Africa.

Prominent attendees at the AAM2025 included H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olayemi Cardoso, Hon.Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo former President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemo Osinbajo former Vice President of Nigeria, Mr. Namadi Sambo, former Vice President of Nigeria, Ambassador Albert Muchanga, African Union Commissioner, Prof. Benedict Okey Oramah, President of Afreximbank and a host of African Leaders and Presidents.
Others present were global thought leaders like Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, Dr. Kishore Mahbubani, and business magnates Aliko Dangote and Tony Elumelu.

The event reached its crescendo with Professor Benedict Oramah being conferred with one of Nigeria’s highest Honors, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), by His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of Nigeria and the African region.
